Liflaen Velmees
Half-drow (Faerunian)
Master of Shrouds / Cleric
Chaotic neutral
. Liflaën, nicknamed Lif by her (rare) allies, is the daughter of a noble human woman seduced by a drow. Never having known her father, she was raised by her mother during her early decades, who then entrusted her to an elvish city. There she joined the clergy, where one of her tasks was the caretaking of funeral rites.
. Becoming a cleric, she choses as her main deity Fenmarel Mestarine, "the Lone Wolf" of the Seldarine, god of outcasts, wild elves and isolation. This choice is motivated by the distrustful looks she has perceived since childhood, due to her drow origins, despite the often hypocritical benevolence of those close to her. Her resentment prevents her to fully follow the path of good, to which she prefers individualism and independence.
. When she gradually turned to necromancy, her relations with the elves deteriorated and her surroundings collided with her ambitions. When she felt convinced that her presence disturbed her fellow citizens (and vice versa), she left the city and became a mercenary adventurer.
. She continued her necromantic studies during her career and quickly found herself a talent for intimidating and controlling undeads, especially intangible ones. She ended up discovering her path, and embraced the Master of Shrouds prestige class, progressing fastly in this way despite her young age.
. Generally fierce, Liflaën associates mostly on a short-term basis with others, selling her services to the highest bidder, and disregarding the motives of her employers. She has an awkward relationship with elves, and no sympathy for the drows.
